    Methodology & caveats

    In one paragraph

    For each site we define two launch corridors — a narrow No Fault corridor (nominal launch, 52 × 3 km) and a large With Fault corridor (emergency / debris, 2,500 × 150 km), both up to 50,000 ft, aligned with each permitted launch direction. We then ask FlightRadar24 where the aircraft were at past moments in time, keep only those actually inside a corridor, and count how busy each site's airspace is over a 2-year window (2024-06-09 → 2026-06-09).

    How the numbers are produced

    1. We query each corridor's own tight bounding box (one per launch direction), then keep only aircraft truly inside the rotated corridor rectangle and below 50,000 ft.
    2. No Fault is sampled every 3 hours across the full 2 years — a near-complete census. With Fault is a sample (about one snapshot every 2.5 days, staggered across the hours of the day) because its huge corridors are far more expensive to scan.
    3. We report, per site: total flights, how often the corridor was occupied (coverage %), and the busiest single day (peak).
    4. Every response is cached, so regenerating this report costs no credits.
